"Working in the insurance industry is a lot like serving in the Air Force. People would assume I was a pilot, but in reality, less than 1 percent of airmen actually fly. It takes a team of support personnel to make the planes fly and that's how insurance is similar. Only a small percentage of people sell insurance, which is the common perception. Insurance companies have the same organizational needs as any other industry, so whether you're interested in a career in IT, talent development, law, safety, etc., you can probably find it in insurance. That's why I love this industry.
